Reforecast
A reforecast updates expected future results using current actuals, remaining work and changed assumptions.
A reforecast is an updated estimate of future results that uses current actuals, remaining work and changed assumptions. It is a forward-looking management view, not a replacement for the approved historical budget or a guarantee of the final result.
An owner review could compare the reforecast with the original plan, identify the assumptions that changed and show the effect on expected income, expense, schedule or capital needs. Oracle's financial-planning guidance describes preparing a forecast by copying selected actual periods and recalculating drivers and trends; that is distinct from an estimate-at-completion formula and should be labeled clearly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a reforecast change the original budget?
It can inform management decisions, but it should remain distinguishable from the approved budget. Preserve the original plan and show the assumptions and reasons behind the updated estimate.
