Access Control
Access control permits or denies requests to enter facilities or use information, systems and services.
Access control is the process of deciding whether a request to enter a facility or use information, systems or services is permitted. It connects an access request with the permissions that apply to it.
In property operations, a key or electronic credential is one possible way to support physical access control. The device or credential alone does not describe who is authorized to use it or what access is allowed.
