Community Impact
Community impact describes the actual or potential effects of an organization's activities on people living or working in affected communities.
Community impact describes effects that an organization's operations have, or could have, on people in surrounding or otherwise affected communities. These effects may involve livelihoods, well-being, local resources or the environment, and can be beneficial or harmful.
In property management, a review can consider effects on neighbors and local workers, identify whose experience is affected, and distinguish observed effects from potential risks. A charitable donation is a separate activity; it does not by itself establish the effects of day-to-day property operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does community impact only mean donations?
No. GRI's community-impact discussion focuses on effects of operations. It addresses community investments and donations separately, so those activities do not replace examining operating impacts.
