Data Integrity
Data integrity protects information from unauthorized changes and accidental or unauthorized destruction or loss.
Data integrity is the condition of information remaining protected from unauthorized changes and from accidental or unauthorized destruction or loss. It applies while data is stored, transferred and used.
In a property-management record system, the practical distinction is between an authorized update and an unintended or unapproved change. Preserving a value does not, by itself, establish that the original value was correct.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does data integrity mean that records can never change?
No. Authorized updates can be part of normal operations. Integrity concerns improper changes or loss; it does not prohibit every change to a record.
