Data Migration
Data migration transfers information between storage systems or computing environments, with checks that the destination data remains usable.
Data migration is the transfer of information from one storage system or computing environment to another. It can accompany a software replacement, infrastructure change or consolidation of systems.
A management-system migration can involve mapping source fields to destination fields and checking that the resulting records remain complete and usable. Planning, compatibility checks and verification are part of the work, rather than assuming that a completed transfer proves a successful migration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a finished transfer prove that a migration succeeded?
Not by itself. The destination data still needs verification against the intended source and use, including compatibility and integrity checks.
