Turn Time
The elapsed time from a resident moving out until the unit is ready for the next occupant, using stated measurement boundaries.
Turn time measures how long it takes to move a rental unit from move-out to move-in-ready condition. Average turn time equals total turn days divided by the number of completed unit turns in the defined reporting cohort.
Use the same start and finish milestones when comparing results. Under a move-out-to-ready definition, later time waiting for a new resident to move in is measured separately. The metric does not prescribe a universal completion deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is turn time the same as total vacancy time?
No. A unit can be ready before the next resident moves in. Total vacancy can therefore extend beyond the make-ready period.
